Program Description

Welcome to Egypt! Do you dream of exploring the ancient cities of the pharaohs? Best Tours Hurghada offers you this opportunity with a special overnight trip to Aswan and Abu Simbel. Immerse yourself in Nubian culture, as Aswan has a unique character in Egypt, and enjoy the beauty of the Nile, the lush greenery along its banks, and the sailboats that glide along the Blue Nile.

Day 1: Arrive in Aswan at 11:30 AM. There, visit the Aswan High Dam, a massive dam located in Aswan and one of Egypt’s most important mega-projects for regulating the Nile’s waters and generating electricity. Next, visit the Philae Temple, whose construction was begun by the Greek Emperor Ptolemy II and later expanded by subsequent Ptolemaic rulers. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, it is the main temple on Philae Island. Other temples on the island include those of Hathor and Horus. A prominent feature is the depiction of Isis nursing her son Horus on the walls of the mammesses (birth chamber), the room where the god’s birth was celebrated. The Roman-era pavilion of Emperor Trajan still stands in front of the temple, although its roof is no longer intact. It’s worth noting that all the original monuments on Philae Island were moved to the neighboring island of Agilkia in the 1970s during UNESCO’s campaign to save Nubian monuments from being submerged.

Day 2 : Visit the Abu Simbel Temple. The Abu Simbel Temple is one of the most magnificent temples in Egypt, carved into the mountainside and built by King Ramses II. Colossal statues of the king stand on either side of the main hall leading to the sanctuary, where four deities are depicted: Amun-Ra, Ra-Horakhty, Ptah, and Ramses II himself. The temple was constructed with such precision that on two days each year, February 22nd and October 22nd, the sun’s rays penetrate the main hall and illuminate the statues deep within the temple, with the exception of the statue of the god Ptah.
