The Aswan Abu Simbel Tour is a carefully designed overnight journey for travelers who want to explore southern Egypt in depth. From the moment you arrive, you will feel the charm of Aswan, a city known for its Nubian culture, relaxed atmosphere, and stunning Nile scenery. Moreover, throughout the trip, you will enjoy panoramic views of lush riverbanks, granite islands, and traditional sailboats moving gently along the Nile.
With Best Tours Hurghada, this Aswan Abu Simbel Tour combines history, culture, and natural beauty in one unforgettable experience. In addition, the tour allows you to explore legendary temples while traveling comfortably and safely with a professional guide.
You will arrive in Aswan at approximately 11:30 AM, after which your guided tour will begin immediately. First, you will visit the impressive Aswan High Dam, one of Egypt’s most important modern engineering achievements. Here, your guide will explain how the dam regulates the Nile’s waters and supplies electricity across the country.
Next, you will continue to the magnificent Philae Temple, which honors the goddess Isis. Originally, builders constructed the temple during the reign of Ptolemy II, and later rulers expanded the complex. As you walk through the site, you will also see temples dedicated to Hathor and Horus. Additionally, you will admire Trajan’s Kiosk, a Roman-era pavilion that still stands today.
Importantly, UNESCO relocated all the monuments from Philae Island to Agilkia Island in the 1970s to save them from flooding. After completing the visits, you will check in and enjoy a relaxing evening in Aswan.
Early in the morning, you will depart for Abu Simbel, one of Egypt’s most breathtaking archaeological sites. Along the way, you will pass through desert landscapes that highlight the region’s dramatic beauty.
Upon arrival, you will explore the colossal temples carved directly into the mountainside by King Ramses II. At the entrance, four massive statues of the king dominate the façade and lead into the main sanctuary. Inside, you will see statues of Amun-Ra, Ra-Horakhty, Ptah, and Ramses II himself.
Remarkably, on February 22nd and October 22nd, sunlight reaches deep inside the temple and illuminates the statues, except for Ptah, the god of darkness. After finishing your visit, you will begin the return journey, bringing your Aswan Abu Simbel Tour to a memorable close.
